Before the Boat: 3

Below is the third in a series of short writings on Cinnis' past prior to their adventures in Gravir. Nothing written below will affect how they are in the campaign currently.

God I am really sleepy, but I really wanted to put this up anyway.

Before the Boat - 3
Destiny got Cinnis lying on a bed with fine linens the next morning, naked and sandwiched between Legahl and his half-orc assistant, Keth. It was an interesting kind of night. Looking down at the way the colors of their skins mixed in the daylight was also fascinating… Legahl’s soft bronze against Cinnis’ vivid violet, and pressed up against Keth’s mossy green.

“You did very well for your first time, darling,” Legahl cooed, pressing himself up against the merfolk’s front.
“I hope I didn’t leave you sore,” Keth grunted, pressing up against Cinnis’ back.
“Ah… but you both were so gentle… I couldn’t imagine my first any other way,” Cinnis laughed, running a hand up Legahl’s front while arching their back to press their ass back against Keth. Somehow, everything of this felt very natural. It was as if a heavy cloak of keeping their true self secret had been shed along with all their clothes the night before.

“Well then, let me get up and prepare us food. Unless, of course, you’re hungry for something else, darling.” The elf teased, reaching up to cup Cinnis’ cheek as Keth pressed a few fond kisses up the merfolk’s spine.
“Ah… you spoil me so much, Miss Azh,” Cinnis flushed in response, voice shaking lightly as their sensitive back was teased. “But mm… I would appreciate breakfast. I’ll help.”

In an attempt to get up, the merfolk found themselves crashing down again on the bed, their legs feeling like gelatin. Keth got up instead, leaving Cinnis alone.

“Better if you just relaxed. The way Lea and I do things are probably too intense for most people, let alone a first timer,” he winked as he moved to assist the elf with breakfast.

In the meantime, Cinnis lay by themselves on the bed, thinking over what had transpired the night before.

After being whisked away so suddenly, the first thing they remembered was Legahl asking him why he only started sitting in the audience now after so many years. Cinnis had practically told her the story of their life, and how they wanted to break free from the life in their tribe. Legahl was a gracious listener, and then asked Cinnis if they wanted to try the art form she was involved in: drag. Over hundreds of years of watching the culture, she knew potential when she saw it. And she confessed that those many years ago, on the day she saw Cinnis as she was doing a floorshow, she already could tell that they could be something amazing.

The next moments all went by in a blur once again. As they were talking, Keth came in wanting Legahl for the night, but that would mean Cinnis had to sleep on a rug. Legahl invited Cinnis to join them, just for fun. Being gutsy and unable to say no to anything exciting, Cinnis went along with them, which led to this moment now.

Cinnis certainly could get used to this life. Perhaps they could just run away from the tribe now… but that would be unfair, maybe. But there wasn’t much tying them down to their old life. Either way, they couldn’t just leave unannounced like that. They were still one of the chief’s children and they had yet to reach adulthood and choose a creed.

After a while of thought, Cinnis managed to get up to gather their clothes and put them back on.

“Hey, Miss Azh, could you take me back to the Leaky Dick? As much as I’d like to stay, I should go home.”

Legahl gestures for the merfolk to sit down and eat some food as they discuss. “You snuck out with magic studies as an excuse, right? Let me help you with that at least before you go.”

As Cinnis ate, Legahl got up to peruse her collection of tomes and pulled out a slim volume.

“This is a book of practical spells for stage design. You probably don’t want to show this to your parents but…” Legahl took a quick look around her space and pulled out a few materials to put in a bag for her new apprentice. “Here. These items are important for some spells. You should take them also to prove that you’ve been studying magic.”

As Legahl set the book and materials before Cinnis, the merfolk’s eyes grew wide and round.
“Ah! You’re too generous!”

“No, well… it’s my responsibility. I’ve decided that I’ll take you under my wing. From now on, you can all me ‘Mother’, darling. No need for the formal name. Once you’re home, I want you to study that book. It’ll be a part of your training in the art of drag.”

With that, Legahl gave Cinnis a kiss to the temple.

“You have amazing potential, darling. You’re beautiful, and you have the guts to go out there and get what you want. I’d hate to see it wasted by you being unable to pursue what you really want to be.”

At those words, Cinnis couldn’t help but turn to embrace the elf tightly.

“I’ll do my best to make you proud!”
